This hamlet still has primitive transport system!

Narayankhed (Sangareddy): With no road connectivity and ambulances not even coming close the village, the residents of Kondyanaik thanda, a sleepy hamlet coming under Yenakpally gram panchayat, are carrying patients on cots as far as 3 kilometres in emergency situations. On Tuesday, the youth in the hamlet had no other option but to carry Limba Naik (80), who was suffering from high fever and cough for the past two days in the hamlet, to the nearest hospital.

The youth carried the senior citizen from Kondyanaik thanda to Yenakpally village (GP) in the newly-formed Nagaligidda mandal of Narayankhed constituency. From there, the patient was taken to the Government Hospital in Narayankhed, where he is being treated. This kind of manual transportation is quite common for the residents of the hamlet.

Recently, a person who was bitten by a snake was carried in a similar manner by the youth in the hamlet. Fortunately, he survived. The most affected are senior citizens and pregnant woman due to inaccessibility of ambulances which just cannot cross from Yenakpally to Kondyanaik thanda as there is no road to connect the two habitations.

The Hans India has published a story almost eight months ago regarding the village with no road connectivity. Ronald Rose, the then Collector of unified Medak district had visited the hamlet and had assured that a bridge would be constructed in the valley between Yenakpally and Kondyanaik thanda which are located on two hillocks.

While Kondyanaik thanda and Thakurnaik thanda do not have road connectivity with the outside world, the people of Yenakpally do not have that problem. Despite repeated attempts made by the youth in the hamlets to convey the same to officials in District Collectorate in Sangareddy, no action has been initiated so far to construct the bride.

The residents of the hamlet were assured by the present MLA M Bhoopal Reddy that a road would be constructed if he got elected. The entire population in the hamlet voted for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the Assembly elections in 2014. Yet, their problems have not been solved.

Before the September rains, Panchayat Raj Department had sanctioned Rs 3 lakh for laying a formation road between Enakpally and the hamlets. Sarpanch Prakash, a resident of Enakpally laid a kaccha road. However, that did not stay long because once it started raining, a flowing stream washed away the newly-laid road, further damaging the path.

When The Hans India contacted J Jaypal, Deputy EE, Narayankhed, Panchayat Raj Department, he agreed that only if a bridge was built across the hillocks it would sustain. The two hamlets - Ratnyanaik thanda and Sattunaik thanda have with around 600 people living there. The sarpanch has allegedly been continuously ignoring the pleas of the youth of the affected hamlets.

The youth have submitted multiple representations to the then Collector Ronald Rose and have even spoken to Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, the man who adopted Narayankhed constituency. He reportedly asked the youth to complain to the new District Collector of Sangareddy, Manik Raj Kannan regarding the issue.
