Hyderabad: State government was keen on constructing new police station buildings with all hi-tech facilities besides, modernising existing police stations to make them model police stations, said Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the new police station building at Saidabad in Old City on Thursday, the minister said that 23 police stations were being modernized at a cost of Rs 75 crore.

Praising the city police for their hard work, the home minister said that there was no case of failure of law and order in the last two years, which speaks of the efficiency and sincerity of the police department.

He called upon the police personnel to become more and more people friendly so that people can approach the police with open mind and resolute their problems.

Later, he laid the foundation stone of Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar police station building. Director General of Police Anurag Sharma, City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy, other senior officials, Telangana minister T Srinivasa Yadav and other political leaders were also present.
