STALLING OF PROCEEDINGS

New Delhi: TRS MP in the Lok Sabha, Jithender Reddy, took the Opposition head on on- Thursday during the ruckus over demonetisation by challenging the latter's continued obstruction of the Business that disallowed a debate on ban of highcurrency notes in the House during the entire Winter session. Soon after the Leader of the Opposition, Mallikarjun Kharge demanded the debate on the subject but disagreeing with the Treasury benches on how to go about it effectively leading to commotion, Jithender Reddy got up to question the continued stalling.

He said all parties agreed that the implementation process of demonetisation was welcome a day before the session began but were not cooperating now. When the TMC members took strong objection to the same, Jithender Reddy vehemently condemned their attitude and said the fact that everyone agreed to debate while welcoming the move per se was on record. The discussion or debate to curb black money or fake money or terrorist money or whatever it was called was a good one.

The disagreement was only on implementation of the same and hence, the debate should go on, he said. Everybody had an objection. All parties had an objection about the implementation. Senior member like Bhartruhari Mehtab had wanted a discussion under Rule 193 and he also wanted a discussion under the same Rule and he was allowed to speak by the Chair. Yet, he was not allowed to speak so far, he said. He said he was ready to start the discussion under the said rule and the others could continue later with their views.
