Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday directed Ministers and party legislators to come prepared and give a fitting reply to the possible onslaught by the Opposition on the government during winter session of Assembly beginning from Friday. The issues related to pending dues of farm loan waiver and students’ fee reimbursement schemes, besides the welfare programmes of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government and demonetisation are expected to dominate the Winter Session.

The Business Advisory Committee is understood to have agreed for taking up discussion on demonetisation issue. At the insistence of MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, KCR reportedly agreed to take up a decision to discuss on “note ban” row and the first day of the winter session. The Opposition is to take on the Centre as well as the Chandrashekar Rao government for initially taking on the Centre over the note ban decision causing about Rs 3,000 crore loss to its exchequer.

The treasury benches are asked to be ready to give a spontaneous reply on the issues raised and take the edge out of Opposition criticism. As the BAC meeting has decided to conduct the house for 12 working days and declared holidays on December 18, 24 and 25. Chandrashekar Rao, who is the Leader of the House, asked the party leaders to be prepared with complete information to pre-empt the Opposition criticism. The Chief Minister is understood to have asked the TRS leaders to ensure that the House proceedings are not disrupted.

The Chief Minister directed the officials, including heads of departments, to give complete data to the members. The main Opposition Congress, TDP and BJP have been demanding that the state government release the pending instalments of its farm loan waiver scheme at one go and also clear the pending dues of fees reimbursement. Clearing the dues of the two schemes is important to help the farmers in distress and also poor students who are the beneficiaries of tuition fees reimbursement, the parties have pointed out.
