Quoting from the Sudhir Committee’s report, Shabbir said 131 government schools (Urdu medium) were closed during the recent years.
Replying to this, the Deputy Chief Minister said Rs 1 crore contribution from each MLA from Hyderabad in addition to Rs 60 crore whose proceedings were with NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) would help overcome the problems.
On the government’s initiative of ‘digital lessons’, Kadiyam Srihari informed that the technology was adopted by 1,552 government high schools in November and the remaining 3,472 high schools would be covered in the coming months as part of the scheme.
About the improvement of content, he said the government was awaiting Society for Information Technology & Teacher Education (SITE) response on this issue.
Answering to a separate question, he said the State government would extend mid-day meals to students in government junior colleges, where a total of 1.73 lakh students were likely to get benefited.
“The government is examining the scheme, as it requires kitchen sheds and dining halls, which needs additional space,” he said.
