With the Congress members demanding a debate on party defections in the Assembly session, Speaker Madhu Sudhana Chary responded by stating that the adjournment motion moved by the party on poaching of MLAs by the TRS in violation of the anti-defection law would be taken after the question hour as per the BAC(Business Advisory Committee) guidelines.

While the Speaker asked them to refrain from interrupting the Question hour, the Congress leaders' continuous interruptions led to nine of the party members being suspended for the day from Telangana Assembly.

The nine Congress members suspended include DK Aruna, Bhatti Vikramarka, Jeevan Reddy, Chinna Reddy, Geetha Reddy, Padmavathi Reddy, Vamshichand Reddy, Rammohan Reddy and Sampath.

Reacting on the suspension, Congress leader Jana Reddy faulted the Speaker for his one-sided approach towards the ruling party and ignoring the Opposition's view.

Earlier, Telangana Irrigation Minister Harish Rao too lamented that the House is meant to hold discussions on people's issues and not to disrupt the proceedings and suggested as per the rules of Assembly to suspend two of the members - TDP MLAs Revanth Reddy and Venkata Veeraiah for the day. The motion was moved by the speaker.
