This assumes importance as it is said that Mohammed Nayeemuddin alias Nayeem’s death in an ‘encounter’ in August had opened a can of worms for the police and politicians alike in Telangana. The diary and pen-drive seized from one of the houses of Nayeem reportedly contain the names of police officials, political leaders and journalists who are alleged to be on his payrolls.
Sources said the names of some IPS officers of undivided Andhra Pradesh and 15 IPS officers from Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand were found in the diary. It is also said to have contained the names of additional SPs, DSPs and inspectors who worked in Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Nalgonda, Karimnagar and Warangal.
