All India Majlis-e Ittihad al-Muslimin (AIMIM) MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi addressed the issue of pollution in the Telangana Assembly on Tuesday and urged Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao to hold a meeting regarding the same.

Stating that the people of Hyderabad are suffering due to the high rise in pollution, Owaisi requested the Municipal Ministers to take up the issue soon.

Responding to the issue, KTR said that Telangana government is planning to shift polluting industries outside the limits of the Outer Ring Road by next year-end.

Also, assuring that the industrial units will be provided with modern infrastructure facilities, the Minister further said that vehicles are the reason to 49 percent of pollution in the city with Hyderabad now standing at 24th position in Asia in the pollution scale.

However, KTR said that 1545 industries have been identified and soon a notice would be sent asking them to shift out of the Outer Ring Road for which proper infrastructure would be provided.
