Hyderabad: Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy said that there were no Sub-Inspectors or Circle Inspectors from Andhra Pradesh working in Telangana.

The minister while replying to a question by TRS member V Srinivas Goud, on the number of CIs and SIs appointed in Hyderabad under Hyderabad City Police Act said that as per the records, no inspectors or sub inspectors of Hyderabad were appointed under the Hyderabad City Police Act. He said that these posts do not come under the category of State cadre.

Srinivas Goud claimed that 69 CIs were appointed from Andhra Pradesh and they needed to be sent back to their native place as per their local certificates. He also said that 27 DSP’s from Andhra region had given Hyderabad as an option.

“These officials are leaking information to neighbouring States”, said Srinivas Goud. Naini Narasimha Reddy said that the SIs and CIs recruitment was taken up under Zone 6 which had the provision of 70 per cent local and 30 per cent open category reservations.

He said that the division of DSPs was being done on 58:42 ratios and that the police officials who are willing to go to Andhra Pradesh were relieved by the State government. He also added that it was being done with mutual consent of the two officers from both the States.
