​Hyderabad: It is bonanza for ex-servicemen in Telangana. State government on Friday decided to implement double pension for the retired armed forces employees in the State.

Reviewing the welfare of retired armed forces personnel with the State officials , Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that the ex- servicemen who joined the State services and retired are getting only one pension either form the Centre or from the State government .

TS government has now decided to provide pension to the retired ex-servicemen from the State services also.

He said this decision was taken recognising the services rendered to the nation by the armed forces personnel from the State.

As per the State pension rules, they would be given pension every month. Pension to the widows of martyred soldiers has also been increased to Rs 6000 from the present Rs 3,000.

The Chief Minister also announced that the houses constructed by the ex-servicemen would be exempted from the payment of property taxes permanently.

Chief Secretary K Pradeep Chandra and police officials Naveen Chand and MK Singh were also present in the meeting.
