Hyderabad: Taking strong objection to the comments made by Congress member Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on the Pragathi Bhavan, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that it was time members stop looking at everything with a negative mind.

He said what they call as a swanky camp office with 150 rooms is a figment of their imagination. KCR said it was a fact that the new building has ample space to conduct review meetings on regular basis and the aim of building a spacious building was for public purpose.

It is not KCR’s own building. It is the property of the State of Telangana. All future Chief Ministers will be staying in it and also urged the Opposition parties to desist from making baseless allegations.

He said that it was a public office and was built with an aim to ensure common people had easy access to it. He also added that there was no official residence for Chief Minister until former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy constructed a camp office. But that building too had certain flaws as it did not have enough space for meetings and parking.

Hence, he had gone in for construction of a building that would meet the requirements of the Chief Minister. KCR made these remarks while responding to a short discussion on weaker section housing scheme in the Assembly on Tuesday.
