Police take AP MLA J C Prabhakara Reddy into preventive custody to avert a possible clash between him and TRS MLA Srinivas Goud

Hyderabad: A war of words between TRS MLA V Srinivas Goud and Andhra Pradesh MLA J C Prabhakara Reddy over plying of buses by private operators illegally on nationalised routes escalated into a full-blown conflict on Tuesday. The police swung into action and took Prabhakara Reddy into custody to avert a possible clash between two rival MLAs at the Road Transport Authority office at Khairatabad here.

Srinivas Goud had raised the issue of illegal operations by the travels owned by Prabhakara Reddy, but the latter refuted the charges. He went to the RTA office and dared Srinivas Gowd to come to the RTA office and prove the charges made against him. The TRS MLA arrived at the RTA officials, accompanied by a large number of followers. Protesting his arrest, Prabhakara Reddy alleged that the police had arrested him only because he hailed from AP.

He also said the TRS MLA was acting at the behest of his competitors. Srinivas Goud claimed that he had all evidences over the irregularities committed by Reddy’s private travels. He said the AP-based private operators were denting the revenues of TSRTC and demanded stern action against the illegal private operators in Telangana State.
