​Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao on Friday announced that the State government would lay a new pipeline on a stretch of 465 km at a cost of Rs 502 crore to improve drinking water supply in the city.

Replying to a question raised by MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi and other legislators in the Legislative Assembly during Question Hour, the Minister said the core city areas needed water pipelines as well as sewerage lines.

He said the government proposed to lay new sewerage lines on a stretch of 945 km at a cost of Rs 1,240 crore. He said both the works would be completed soon.

He also said the government was planning to supply drinking water to all households in Hyderabad on a daily basis under Mission Bhagiratha.
