Hyderabad: The Congress party will organise protests at village-level against demonetisation across the State in the coming weeks.

TPCC President N Uttam Kumar Reddy said the party would go to people and expose the Centre’s failure in alleviating the sufferings of people arising out of demonetisation.

He appealed to the party cadre to explain to the masses as to how the Centre had caused the common people severe hardships through its illogical economic policies.

The TPCC Chief said the party district units would organise protests programme at district Collectorates across the State on January 5, 6 and 7. On January 9 party’s women wing would lead party protests.

On January 11, a massive public meeting would be organised in New Delhi by the AICC which would be addressed by AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to protest note ban.

Leaders of Opposition K Jana Reddy and Mohammed Ali Shabbir, TPCC Working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, former PCC Presidents Ponnala Lakshmaiah and V Hanumantha Rao, MPs Palvai Govardhan Reddy, Renuka Chowdhary, Nandi Yellaiah and other senior leaders were present in the meeting.
