Gajwel: Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel, who inspected double bed-room houses built by the State government for the poor in Erravalli and Narsannapet villages on Tuesday, said that he would request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take up construction of such houses for the poor all over the country.

The Union Minister, who called on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Reddy on Monday, visited the two villages at the behest of the Chief Minister. While going round the colonies in the two villages, he visited the homes of Bhagya Balaraj and Sattaiah and enquired from them about the construction and government support.

Medak District Collector P Venkatram Reddy explained the Minister how the houses were built. Addressing the villagers, Goel described the Chief Minister’s initiative as wonderful. He had a word of appreciation for the Chief Minister considering that the houses had been built in the villages excellently. “I would request the Prime Minister to build homes for the poor across the country in the same fashion,” he said. He said he found the surroundings in the two villagers pleasant with greenery everywhere.

Recalling how the Chief Minister had supported the demonetisation effort of the Prime Minister, Goel lauded the State government’s decision to make all transactions across the State cashless.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the national level and Chandrashekar Rao at the State level had been working hard for people’s welfare, he said.

Police Commissioner P Sivakumar, Sports Authority of Telangana Chairman Venkateswar Reddy, Joint Collector M Hanmantha Rao, Gajwel RDO Vijayender Reddy and others participated in the programme.
