AP, Telangana among the highest number of road mishaps in the country

In the recently released National Crime Records Bureau data, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were placed in the top 10 states with the highest number of road accidents in the country.
In the recently released National Crime Records Bureau data, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were placed in the top 10 states with the highest number of road accidents in the country.
Telangana bagged the 9th place while Andhra Pradesh scored 7th place as per the NCRB data. Nearly 8297 people lost their lives in AP in 22839 road mishaps and 7110 people were killed in 21252 road accidents reported.
According to the reports, most of the accidents took place in highways. Careless or dangerous driving resulted the maximum number of deaths in the country and 3.7 percent accidents were reported due to bad weather conditions.
53 cases of road accidents were reported every hour and 17 people killed as per the NCRB data analysis.
