A committee, which would function under the direct government control, would be formed after due consultations with parents associations as well managements of private schools.

“A new draft on rules was received by the government on January 2 from the Director of School Education, which is under active consideration,” he said.

The Deputy Chief Minister recalled that in 1994 a comprehensive Government Order was passed and similarly GOs were issued in 2009 and 2010 with the objective of regulating private institutions in united AP State was passed.

However, the government orders were challenged in High Court and Supreme Court by the private institutions. He pointed out that one of the GOs was quashed and another had been stayed.

“We shall be coming up with new GO in the light of GO 1 (1994) for regulating the fee structure in the private institutions.

Due consultations with both sides are being made prior to taking any decision, so that the government does not face legal hurdles in implementing it,” he said.
