Hyderabad: The participants of Vaktha, a two-day training session on public speaking, described their experience as a ‘turning point’ in their lives. They found the tips provided by experts as significant for grooming themselves to face huge audience.The training programme jointly organised by HMTV and Kaushalya School of Life Skills on January 7 and 8 inspired scores of aspiring politicians, social workers and businesspersons. Some of participants of 49th batch described this as a complete transformation in their attitude and body language within two days of training and asserted to maintain poise like an ‘Orator.’

The Director (Training), Kapil Group and the lead faculty of the programme D Bal Reddy said the public speaking was a skill, which could only be honed by regular practice.

He gave important tips and techniques related to public speaking.S Anand Parjanya, faculty on body language, trained the participants on maintaining their posture while delivering a speech and communicating at a public place. He explained as to how an orator should communicate the subject with the coordinating actions of hands.

K Srikanth, another faculty member, explained important techniques of voice modulation since a good speaker would maintain a high tone while delivering the speech. He made students practise some of the important tips and showed how voice culture and modulation can make a person an effective public speaker.

While providing their feedback, E Mahesh from Anantapur felt confident after getting trained and said that he is now able to easily speak in front of huge audience of one lakh participants, without any stage fear. He held that the oratory skills he developed during training would help him transform hundreds of youngsters into good social workers. K Satish Chander Reddy, another participant, felt that the training had equipped him with an opportunity to learn tips, which he otherwise would have never learnt through other means. Feeling confident after attending the training programme, he described it as the best training session in the communication model of ‘one-to-many.’ N Mahender Goud from RR district described this as moment which transformed him completely. He said the tips provided during the training improved his oratory skills.
