Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari, who also holds Education portfolio, on Monday said the centenary celebrations of Osmania University would be held showcasing the history and culture of Telangana from April 26.
Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari, who also holds Education portfolio, on Monday said the centenary celebrations of Osmania University would be held showcasing the history and culture of Telangana from April 26.
Addressing the media, he said the inauguration of centenary celebrations would be held for three days from April 26 jointly by the State government and Osmania University.
Telangana State and Osmania University had an old relation and the Chief Minister wanted the celebrations to be held on a grand scale, the Minister said.
Apart from conducting the three-day inaugural programme, the yearlong celebrations would be conducted in such a way that they would be remembered forever.
Celebrations to be held on the first three days would be organised by the Telangana Cultural Department and the Sanskritika Saradhis.
As many as 30 committees have been formed to ensure that nothing goes wrong in the celebrations. Out of them, Centenary Celebrations Committee, Reception Committee and the organising committees would take most of the responsibilities.
On April 27, All India VCs Conference will be held and on April 28 Indian International Science Fair would be held. Union Minister Prakash Jawadekar will attend these programmes.
Srihari said a book with 100 best publications of the university would be brought out, and another book on the luminaries from the university would also be published.
A video would be produced on the history of the university.
