Hyderabad: Calling the Supreme Court judgement rejecting the Special Leave Petition filed by the Telangana State government against Brijesh Kumar Tribunal’s directive on reallocation of river Krishna water between Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh, Advisor to the government on Irrigation

R Vidyasagar Rao said the State government would make strong arguments before the tribunal until it renders justice to the State.

The Congress party described the ‘dismissal' of Special Leave Petition filed by the government seeking its intervention in the Krishna Waters Dispute’ by Supreme Court as failure of the government.

TPCC general secretary Dasoju Sravan felt that rather than striving to get its due share of Krishna water, the State government was more focused on spending thousands of crores rupees on construction of projects.

He said the government should have adopted a different strategy by putting pressure on the Centre. The solution for this problem could have been attained by pressing for formation of a new tribunal by Centre.

“TRS with its 17 MPs could have succeeded in pressing its demand. Parliament which is the right platform for such issues,” he added.
