On the suspicious death of minor girl whose body was cremated within couple of hours after her death

Patancheru (Sangareddy): Suspicious death of a minor girl in Patancheru has prompted the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) to issue a memorandum to Superintendent of Police on Monday. The girl was found hanging at her home on Sunday evening and was cremated within couple of hours.

Dindi Laxmi (15), daughter of Mahesh alias Sravan Kumar from Maharashtra and Sakkubai from Odisha, was found hanging at her residence in Rameswaram Banda under Patancheru police station limits at around 4.30 pm on Sunday. With a couple of hours after she was found dead her parents cremated her body.

Mahesh and Sakkubai have been working at Indrasen Brick-kiln in Rameswaram banda, after migrating from Maharashtra a few months ago.

Neighbours suspect something foul due to the way Laxmi’s body was disposed by her own parents. There are also doubts about parents pressurising Laxmi to work in the brick-kiln. Mahesh with his different names at different instances has increased suspicion.

Sangareddy SP Chandrashekar Reddy has been issued a memorandum by Achyuta Rao, Member of SCPCR, asking the former to conduct an enquiry, take action and send a report by January 25.
