​Mahbubnagar: In response to a news report published in The Hans India on Tuesday about feeding rotten chicken to pangasius fish, the Fisheries Department seized the fish tanks and served notices to the owners.

The Fisheries Department field man Naveen, at the behest of Fisheries assistant director Radha Rani, with other personnel visited the tanks rearing banned catfish at Rangapuram, Gummadam and Ramapuram villages and conducted an inquiry.

Naveen said that the facts reported by The Hans India were true and that he would submit a report to the higher officials to this effect.

The Hans India exposed the irregularities by the culprits who want to make quick money by rearing banned fish and ensured that justice be done to the fishermen of Rangapuram, Gummadam and Ramapuram villages.

The villagers welcomed the investigation of The Hans India which benefited the fishermen. Fishermen were happy that illegal rearing of the banned catfish would come to an end.
