After a long wait, the Metro Rail will begin its operations starting from June 2, 2017 on the eve of Telangana Formation Day. The state government is currently looking into the preparations for the Metro Rail to be flagged off.

The opening of the Nagole to Begumpet stretch and Miyapur to SR Nagar routes will kick start the Metro Rail operations on June 2. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has reportedly instructed the Chief Secretary SP Singh to review the preparations.

Along with the Chief Secretary, the government officials including municipal administration secretary Naveen Mittal, GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy and Water Board MD Dana Kishore reviewed the progress at the stations and examined the routes.

Speaking on the facilities, Hyderabad Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy said that the Metrol Rail passengers will be provided bike stations, skywalks and feeder buses. The Chief Secretary has issued orders to various departments involved in the project to meet the June 2 deadline.
