Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday agreed to give an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the family of a teenager who was killed in a road accident last week.

KCR took the decision after Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy met the Chief Minister and appealed him to sanction an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh and a house to the family of the victim.

The teenager, who was on a two-wheeler, died on Janaury 14 after he was hit by a vehicle allotted to Indrakaran Reddy in Nirmal town, police had said.

Indrakaran Reddy met the Chief Minister on Wednesday, said an official release said. KCR had agreed to give an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the next of the kin of the teenager, it said.

The Minister also requested KCR that the family of the deceased be provided a double bedroom house under a government scheme for the poor, it added.

Neither Indrakaran Reddy nor any of his family members was travelling in the car at the time of the mishap, an aide of the Minister had said.
