Mancherial: District Collector R V Karnan on Wednesday directed officials of the Rural Water Supply (RWS) Department to expedite the Mission Bhageeratha works.

He was speaking after inspecting the construction of the intake well near Gudipeta in Hajipur mandal as well as works relating to the Yellampalli project and the National Rural Water Drinking Schemes near Itkyal village of Luxettipet mandal.

Karnan laid stress on the expeditious completion of the Mission Bhageeratha works as the project was intended to supply drinking water to every household.

The intake well being constructed in the Godavari should be completed by March as also the laying of pipelines in every village of the constituency. Fixing of taps should be done on schedule along with the building of the tanks.

The Collector stated that ongoing drinking water schemes in Thimmapur of Laxettipet mandal would benefit people in 35 villages. Hence, these works should also be finished by March.

He discussed with Executive Engineer Kavinesh details of the Yellampalli project, including its storage capacity, water use, and current availability.

Among those who accompanied the Collector during the inspection were RWS Executive Engineer Mallesh Goud, Mission Bhageeratha Grid SE Prasad Reddy, DE Krishna, RWS DE Anjan Rao, Yellampalli Project DE Pochamallu and the contractors concerned.
