A fourth writ petition relating to the elections to the Hyderabad Cricket Association was filed in the High Court at Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Justice A V Sesha Sai hearing the petition stated that the maintainability of the petition challenging the order of the Ranga Reddy Civil Court to hold the HCA elections would be decided on Monday. St. Andrews Cricket Club, East Maredpally, filed the petition complaining that the order of Ranga Reddy Civil Court at the behest of Sesha Narayan was in violation of recommendations of Justice Lodha Committee.

Justice Sesha Sai reminded that such petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India may not be maintainable. The judge said such petitions may have to be filed under Article 227 which gives the power of superintendence to the High Court over the lower courts.

He said the arguments on maintainability of the writ would be heard on Monday.
