Recruitment of DSC teachers on govt radar: Kadiyam Srihari
Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari said that the State government is actively considering the issue of appointment of teachers in the State, for those who had qualified in the DSCs held from 1998-2012.Â
Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari said that the State government is actively considering the issue of appointment of teachers in the State, for those who had qualified in the DSCs held from 1998-2012.
Replying to a question in the State Assembly on Wednesday, Srihari said a decision in principal has been taken by the government. But due to certain legal and other issues raised by the General Administration Department (GAD), the government has been exploring the ways to resolve the issues at the earliest.
Lifting the ban in force on the recruitment of teachers in aided schools and colleges is also under the government’s consideration and a decision would be taken on this, he clarified. Raising the issue BJP MLA K Laxman asked the government to look into the issue of teaching assistants appointed 18 years ago under zonal system by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) in the united AP. He said that citing technical reasons the teaching assistants have so far been denied promotions.
In regard to implementing uniform service for teachers, Srihari said that the file has been pending with the Union Home Ministry and steps would be taken to get early clearance from the Centre. Members cutting across the party lines asked the government to take up appointment of teachers on high priority so as to provide quality education in government run schools.
Responding to another question, Srihari assured to examine a suggestion to bring convergence among primary education, providing nutritious food to children and Anganwadi centres by starting pre-primary classes like nursery, LKG and UKG.
Expressing displeasure over only 100 ml milk being provided to severely malnourished children between the ages of 3-6 years at Anganwadi centres, the members asked them to provide the same to all children in that age group.
