Nod for dialysis centres in Telangana districts
The Telangana State government has cleared a proposal incorporating certain amendments recommended by a technical committee to procure and establish dialysis units at district and area hospitals and community health centres under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

​Hyderabad: The Telangana State government has cleared a proposal incorporating certain amendments recommended by a technical committee to procure and establish dialysis units at district and area hospitals and community health centres under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
A government order on Thursday said the proposed Hub and Spoke model for managing dialysis units would be established under PPP mode and will have three clusters.
Entire State has been divided into three clusters to function under the supervision of the three Nodal Centres which would be located at Osmania, Gandhi and NIMS, it said.
Following this, Gandhi Hospital and the government hospitals in the erstwhile Khammam, Warangal and Karimnagar districts with a total of 13 hospitals have been formed into Cluster – I.
Whereas Cluster –II will have all government hospitals in erstwhile Ranga Reddy, Medak and Mahbubnagar districts with a total of 16 hospitals brought under the supervision of NIMS.
The Osmania Hospital will monitor the dialysis centres in 10 hospitals located in the erstwhile Hyderabad, Nalgonda and Nizamabad districts, it added.
While the Osmania, Gandhi and NIMS would function as Hubs, the dialysis units providing services at various peripheral hospitals at district, area and community centres coming under them would be called as spokes at the service.
The bidders who intend to participate through e-procurement process should be the manufacturers of dialysis machine and disposables with experience in running these services across the world without any major adverse remarks on the service delivery.
They should have a minimum of three years of experience in carrying out similar type of assignments and services in private and public sector globally as per national guidelines, the order stipulated.
However, in case of service providers taking part in the bidding process then they should have to submit documentary evidence of having a MoU with the manufacturers of dialysis machines and disposables.
Further, the successful bidders shall employ qualified persons who have passed the skill tests in the dialysis units for all respective services, it said.
The government has also given its clearance to call tenders to the existing dialysis centres following the expiry of their contract period by October 2016.
The decision has been taken following the recommendations of the technical committee to recall tenders for 39 hospitals, including five hospitals of 75 dialysis units at GGH, Nizamabad, Gandhi Hospital, Osmania Hospital and MGM Hospital, Warangal.
