While interacting with Swachh Bharath Mission Secretary Parameshwaran Iyer at Pragathi Bhavan, Chief Minister said that Mission Bhagiratha Scheme would supply drinking water to the villages on time according to the schedule. Under this programme, people would be protected from 70 water borne diseases.
According to CMO, Parameswaran Iyer has expressed happiness that Mission Bhagiratha Drinking Water Scheme is one of its kinds in the country and will be a role model for the Country. Under Mission Bhagiratha 1,041 fluoride affected villages were given clean drinking water. The press note said that the Centre would release Rs 800 crore shortly.
