Toopran: Mandakrishna Madiga, founder-president of the Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS), alleged here on Friday that injustice was being meted out to dalits by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti government.

Addressing a gathering here after unveiling a statue of Babu Jagjivan Ram, along with balladeer Gaddar, he strongly criticised the KCR government and accused the ruling party of going back on its promise, made in 2003 during the separatist agitation, of making a dalit the Chief Minister.

Alleging that dalits were being subjected to humiliation, sexual harassment, attacks and political discrimination, he warned of launching an agitation to unseat the TRS government for its anti-dalit attitude. Mandakrishna claimed that Madiga community representatives in Telangana were real followers of B R Ambedkar and Jagjivan Ram.

He criticised KCR for dismissing former dalit minister Dr Rajaiah and for failing to take action against Minister T Harish Rao and some officials, although a vigilance department report had established that there was corruption in Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhageeratha works.

Earlier, addressing the gathering, Gaddar pledged support to the categorization of SCs. He wanted KCR to take up the issue with the Centre to pave the way for introduction of the SC Categorisation Bill.
