As a part of comprehensive community development and to rebuild a healthy society for the future citizens, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has taken up an initiative and proposed to rebuild and reunite disturbed families, who were separated for simple reasons of domestic issues.

​Hyderabad: As a part of comprehensive community development and to rebuild a healthy society for the future citizens, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has taken up an initiative and proposed to rebuild and reunite disturbed families, who were separated for simple reasons of domestic issues.

In order to improve the dry and wet garbage waste separately, the GHMC simultaneously taken up an initiative ‘Chetthanu Vidaddeedam - Kutumbaanni Kalupudam’ and proposed to rebuild and reunite the disturbed families, who got separated due to simple social and economic reasons and living in pathetic conditions in slums through counselling by professionals towards healthy and better Hyderabad through SRACO, an NGO.

Children of these families are affected a lot and they are deprived of many opportunities and services provided by the government from time to time and unable to reach up to their capabilities.

The GHMC has taken up the prestigious Swachh Bharath programme of the government on a mission mode and is implementing various activities in a comprehensive mode to rebuild the society towards better healthy living atmosphere to the citizens through citizens’ participation and strengthening the voice of the common man, especially women and children towards healthy and Swachh Hyderabad, according to a release issued here on Tuesday.

It is further observed that some of the SHG/SLF members have informed that they are spending lot of money and time to roam around the courts especially family courts towards solving their issues and many of them requested to take up these type of issues from the municipal side also since it is a part of comprehensive community development and to rebuild a healthy society for the future citizens.

As per the directions of the Commissioner, GHMC, social activity committees have taken lot of efforts under the guidance of Urban Community Development wing to reach the target audience since January 1 and more than 281 families have been identified, out of which 158 disturbed families have been reunited. To highlight this concept, the GHMC is conducting a counselling to the families on Wednesday.
