​Hyderabad: The TPCC has decided to intensify its agitation against demonetisation till the Centre and RBI lift all restrictions on withdrawal of money from banks and ATMs.

Addressing the Jana Avedana Sammelanam held at Jaya Laxmi Gardens here in the city, TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy said the protests across the State would be launched from February 6.

Reddy said the countdown had begun for the downfall of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre and K Chandrashekar Rao government in the State. He alleged that both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao were behaving like absolute monarchs by not giving any respect to people's concerns.

Reddy said that the government did not construct even 300 units of 2BHK houses for poor during the last two-and-a-half years. He asked the Chief Minister to specify the time by which more than 2.5 lakh 2BHK houses would be constructed. He said the Congress would return to power in 2019 and it would construct an additional room for all the Indiramma Houses allotted so far.

TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka alleged that Modi had demonetised high value notes in the guise of curbing black money only to help those corporate forces, which had funded the BJP campaign during the last general polls.

Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly K Jana Reddy and party seniors V Hanumantha Rao, Mohammed Ali Shabbir, G Chinna Reddy, Madhu Yashki Goud, Danam Nagender, DK Aruna, Balram Naik and others were present.

AICC secretaries K B Krishna Murthy and R C Khuntia, Karnataka Minister D Shivakumar and AICC SC Cell chief Koppula Raju explained about the hardships caused to various sections of people because of demonetisation move.

AICC leader Renuka Chowdary, who attended the State Congress convention, created a furore saying that each senior in the party was building castles in the air thinking that he or she would become the Chief Minister of the State in the coming days.

She asked the seniors in the party to instill confidence among party cadres by burying the hatchet and working together to make the party regain its lost ground in the State.
