Bhadrachalam: Principal Secretary of Housing Chitra Ramachandran on Saturday inspected the double bedroom houses being built at the AMC colony in the temple town and Gangolu village of Dammugudem mandal for the homeless poor. She expressed satisfaction over the progress.

Accompanied by District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanmanthu and Housing Chief Engineer Eswaraiah, she visited the houses for the poor under construction. She said the programme, meant for realising the dream of the poor to own a house, would leave an indelible mark on the people’s mind.

Quoting the Chief Minister, she said the houses would be built within the permissible budget. She directed Housing Executive Engineer Sankar to take steps to ensure that the houses have all facilities.

Earlier, she visited the Sri Sitaramachandraswamy temple here. The temple priests and authorities extended her a traditional welcome. She performed special pujas at the temple. Also, she performed pujas at the temples of Goddess Lakshmi Tayaru, Lord Anjaneya Swamy temple, Lord Bhadra temple.

Housing Project Director Krishna Reddy, Executive Engineer Housing Sankar, Divisional Engineer Gopala Rao, Tahsildar Ramakrishna and others accompanied her during the visit.
