Mahbubnagar: The long wait for full-time teachers in all the 35 Social welfare Residential Schools (Gurukula Patashalas) across the four districts of erstwhile Mahbubnagar is all set to be over. The State government has sanctioned 441 teacher posts in Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool, Gadwal and Mahbubnagar. Recruitment of teachers will be carried out in a phased manner.

T Social Welfare Residential Schools are facing a problem due to lack of adequate number of teachers to teach various subjects like English, Mathematics, Physics and Social Sciences. The government decided to fill the teachers’ vacancies through Telangana Public Service Commission.

According to officials, the move would not only help improve standards in the Residential Schools but also unemployed youth secure employment. Sources in the Social Welfare Department said the State government was taking steps to fill at least 228 posts in all the SC Gurukula Patashalas during this year and the remaining in a phased manner.

The TSPSC is expected to release notification in this regard. The sanctioned posts for each Gurukula Patashala include a principal, 8 PGTs, 6 TGTs, 2 PETs, 1 Art/Music, 1 Librarian, 1 healthcare examiner and a craft teacher.
