A 65-year-old woman in Telangana succumbed to death on her way to the hospital on Tuesday due to the traffic restrictions set for the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

In the wake of the Chief Minister's visit, the police in Suryapet went through heavy security arrangements in the town further imposing estrictions on the movement of traffic on the roads in the way to a minister's residence at Sitaram Nagar Colony.

KCR, who was on his way from Hyderabad to Khammam district was scheduled to visit the Minister's house. At the same time, a farmer from Vardhamankota village, about 25km from Suryapet, Soma Anjaiah was taking his wife Lakshmamma, an asthma patient to a Nursing Home located nearby the Minister's residence.

However, with the police restricting the traffic movement, the farmer was unable to move. With a delay resulting in more than half an hour, he requested the police officials to allow their vehicle to pass through. The police officials paid no heed and when the farmer finally did reach the hospital, the doctors declared her brought dead.

The family members alleged that she had died before reaching the hospital.
