GHMC to install solar roof top grid

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to install solar roof top grid in phased manner. The GHMC has also identified as many as 44 for the project during phase I out of total identified 942 buildings.

GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy on Thursday said that the civic body had been paying huge amounts towards electricity charges for various GHMC Office buildings and street lights.
He said once the grid was installed, the GHMC can save money. He said that this move would also help the civic body to promote renewable energy in the city.
He said that the GHMC had also passed a vide resolution No 14 dated 15 June 2016 and save Rs 52 lakh per month.
