Hyderabad: Telangana JAC will organise a protest rally on February 22 with unemployed youth to highlight the failure of the government to fill the vacancies. The rally will be taken out from Sundarayya Vignana Kendram to Indira Park.

Telanganna JAC leaders on Thursday released posters of the proposed rally. Speaking to media, JAC Chairman Prof M Kodandaram said the government in its budget stated that there were 1.07 lakh vacancies.

But, during the last two years, 30,000 more vacancies arose and in the coming three to four months 15,000 more posts would become vacant. Apart from the regular posts there would be another 50,000 posts in the Corporations and other public sector units, said Prof Kodandaram.

The JAC leader said, as per their information the State government had till now filled only 15,000 posts, including those of police constables and sub-inspectors during the last two-and-half years.

“The youth are agitated; many have left their jobs to prepare for the competitive examinations and are paying huge sums of money to the coaching centres.

But the government has not spelt out its policy to fill vacancies,” he said The JAC would take up awareness campaign and educate the youth over the issue. He urged the youth to take part in the rally and also meeting at Indira Park at 1 pm on February 22.

The TRS leaders were making uncharitable comments against him without knowing the ground reality, he said.
