Hyderabad: Cantonment Congress Committee on Tuesday urged Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K T Rama Rao to come to the rescue of poor residents of Cantonment area as they were slapped with exorbitant water bills.

Office-bearers of the Cantonment Congress committee met KTR and submitted a representation to him to this effect. They informed the Minister that the Cantonment Board authorities had slapped water bills ranging between Rs 20,000 and Rs 40,000 on the residents.

They requested him to intervene and speak to the officials concerned and see that the arrears of the water bills were waived. President of the Cantonment Congress committee P Shyam Kumar, TPCC spokesperson Manne Krishank and P Bhagyasree were among those who met Rama Rao.
