​Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister T Srinivas Yadav said the State government had allotted about Rs 2,000 crore for giving 75 per cent subsidy to distribute sheep and goats to Yadava and Kurma beneficiaries in the State.

Stating this at a meeting with the representatives of the Sheep and Goat rearers Cooperative Society held here on Tuesday, the Minister said officials of the Departments concerned had been asked to tour different States for procuring 80 lakh sheep and goats of suitable breeds which can adopt to the States’ climatic conditions.

Claiming that the scheme would benefit about four lakh beneficiaries, he said that the necessary steps were taken following the directions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for the well-being of the sheep and goat rearers from Yadava and Kurma communities.

Further, to bring the two communities onto a single platform, it was decided to hold a public meeting with 10 lakh people at Nizam College Grounds and appealed the leaders of both the communities to extend their cooperation to make it a success.

He said Yadava Sankharavam, a public meeting would be held on February 12 at Asifabad to showcase the unity of the community.
