Hanamkonda: TJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram has demanded the TSPSC and the State government relaxation of the norms fixed for appointing teacher posts in the State-run residential schools.

He said eligibility criteria set for appointing the posts was not proper and it would make a majority of job aspirants to lose the chance to apply for the posts. The average pass percentage in Telangana was below 50 and it was around 40 per cent in B Sc stream.

Very few students get 60 percent marks in degree and post-graduate courses. Telangana State Public Service Commission’s notification set the minimum percentage of marks at 60 per cent to apply and it could eliminate nearly four to five lakh candidates from the job race, he noted.
