Sircilla: A blueprint for the development of Sircilla will be set in motion as part of the State government’s ambitious plan to reinvent the textile town, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao (KTR) has said.

KTR, who made a whirlwind tour of the town on Wednesday, said that there was a need for a strategic framework for the town’s future. “Keeping an eye on future needs of the town, the administration is drawing a plan that includes development of infrastructure,” he said, adding that emphasis is also on the aesthetics of the town.

The upcoming national highway and the railway line will add more to the town’s development, he said, referring to widening of Karimnagar and Kamareddy roads with an outlay of Rs 87 crore. He directed the authorities to ensure greenery around upcoming dumping yard and graveyard. Further he instructed them to focus on cleanliness of the streets.

“Linking with Mid Manair Dam package-9, Kotha cheruvu and Kargil lake have to be maintained with water round the year,” KTR said, adding that banks of Manair river will also be beautified. He asserted that Sircilla will be transformed into a model town in next two years.
