KTR felicitates Mallesham
IT and MA&UD Minister K T Rama Rao felicitated Padma Shri awardee Chintakindi Mallesham for his services in handloom sector. After getting Padma Shri, Mallesham called on the Minister at Secretariat here on Thursday where the latter offered him all help and support.Â
​Hyderabad: IT and MA&UD Minister K T Rama Rao felicitated Padma Shri awardee Chintakindi Mallesham for his services in handloom sector. After getting Padma Shri, Mallesham called on the Minister at Secretariat here on Thursday where the latter offered him all help and support.
On the occasion, Rama Rao said Mallesham’s services were inspirational for rural inventors. He also promised that the government would extend all cooperation to Mallesham to further use extensively the ‘Asu Machines’ in the handloom sector.
The State government was pushing ahead with its plan to encourage rural innovation and social innovation, Rama Rao said. Employment opportunities in rural areas would increase when research got a push, he said.
Rama Rao also asked Mallesham to come up with a detailed report of recommendations and instructions on changes in handloom sector, use of modern technology, marketing opportunities and others.
He also asserted that the State government would take steps to strengthen the handloom sector to provide more employment opportunities and empower weavers economically.
