Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama on Saturday stressed the need for revival of ancient Indian wisdom and the need to maintain the same in the present education system.

​Hyderabad: Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama on Saturday stressed the need for revival of ancient Indian wisdom and the need to maintain the same in the present education system.

He delivered a talk at the Sardar Vallabbhai Patel National Police Academy to the trainees comprising 139 IPS probationers and 15 officer trainees from Bhutan, Maldives and Nepal.

Recalling the great contribution provided by India towards developing the inner self, he explained how India can provide integration of modern technology with a harmonious inner self and spoke about the development of the principles of non-violence and compassion.

The spiritual leader explained the trainees the oneness of humanity, importance of religious harmony and necessity to develop and exhibit compassion to all humans regardless of religions or race. He expressed his admiration for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and for the Indian Police for protecting the democratic set up of India.

He also interacted with the trainees and answered their queries. Earlier, he paid homage to IPS Martyrs by laying a wreath at the Martyrs’ Column and planted a sapling in the gardens at the Basic Course Training Complex. NPA Director Aruna Bahuguna and other senior officials of the academy were present.
