​Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is reported to have instructed higher officials to find a suitable place for allowing protest programmes that would be more spacious than the present dharna chowk at Indira Park.

Sources told The Hans India that the Chief Minister felt that there is greater congestion at Indira Park as more and more protests are being held.

In an informal chat with senior officials, KCR is believed to have told them that dissent is integral to democracy and people in power should facilitate expression of such dissent.

The discussion came when the CM was referring to the growing protests against Donald Trump. KCR was, however, upset with the way an elected President is undermined.

In a democracy, people elect governments. Opposition should allow governments to function. The governments should allow expression of dissent, KCR reportedly felt.
