Hyderabad: As part of its protests against the ‘anti-people’ policies by the State and Central governments, the TPCC on Monday decided to launch a 10-day agitation ‘Jana Avedana Sammelanam’.

Addressing media, after chairing the TPCC extended executive meeting at Gandhi Bhavan, TPCC President N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress would hold various agitation programmes across the State from February 19 to 28 covering all the 119 Assembly constituencies.

A massive public meeting ‘Jana Avedana Sabha’ will be held in Nizamabad on February 19. Similar public meetings will be held in the erstwhile 10 districts of Telangana.

The TPCC Chief said that both the State and Central governments have failed to resolve the problems being faced by the people. He said that all the sections of society were badly hit due to demonetisation decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He alleged that the Prime Minister has been misleading the entire country with catchy slogans like Make in India, Skill India, Start-up India and Digital India. He said that the real development process has come to a halt since the BJP-led government took over at the Centre.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the situation in Telangana was equally bad. The Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has completely neglected the development and people's welfare.

Senior leaders including former PCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah, TPCC Vice-Presidents Balram Naik, D K Aruna, P Sabitha Indira Reddy and Dr Mallu Ravi and General Secretary Vinod Reddy were also present.
