Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) Managing Director M Dana Kishore on Wednesday directed the officials to rectify 600 hotspots, where frequent sewerage overflow is seen, within four months time.

The Managing Director instructed the deputy general managers (Engineering wing) and Grievances Monitoring and Information Technology (GMITRA) officials to ensure public participation.

He said that necessary funds for rectification of hotspots would be sanctioned. He further said that if the buildings fail to construct silt chambers which result in frequent over flowing then they will be penalised.

Buildings that fall under this category are hostels, hotels, mess owners, hospitals, function halls, dairy farms etc.

The water board MD also directed officials to see that all the complaints coming on Social Media (Twitter, Face book) are attended immediately.
The Managing Director instructed the deputy general managers to ensure that commercial defaulters pay up their dues before March end.

He directed them that if these defaulters do not pay up arrears then in coordination with GHMC their trade licenses would be cancelled. An Audit Team from head office would check the status of disconnections, he added.
