Suryapet: Hundreds of devotees thronged Peddagattu temple on Wednesday and took the darshan of Lingamanthula Swamy and Goddess Chowdamma.

As a part of the Jatara, priests conducted Nela Varam to Devarapette. In the evening amidst chanting of Vedic hymns and Olinga slogans, the box consisting Lingamanthula Swamy and Goddess Chowdamma and other village deities was shifted back to Devara temple of Kesaram.

District Collector Surendra Mohan, Durajpalli temple chairman Srinivas Yadav commenced the procession and families of Menthanaboina, Gorla and Munna lead the rally.

District police deputed large number of police to avoid any untoward incident during Deverapette shifting procession to Kesaram.

Nakrekal MLA Nomula Veeresham, MLC Poola Ravinder visited the temple and performed special pujas. Following the tradition, devotees offered Bonalu and sacrificed goats and sheep. The biennial Jatara will come to an end on Thursday.
