Travel agent held for cheating
Hyderabad: A travel agent from Tamil Nadu was arrested for cheating several people with fake visas and air tickets. A team of the Central Crime Station (CCS), Hyderabad visited Erode in Tamil Nadu and arrested the travel agent identified as Kumar Arumugam aka Arun Kumar
Hyderabad: A travel agent from Tamil Nadu was arrested for cheating several people with fake visas and air tickets. A team of the Central Crime Station (CCS), Hyderabad visited Erode in Tamil Nadu and arrested the travel agent identified as Kumar Arumugam aka Arun Kumar on Wednesday and brought him to city.
In the present case, Kumar cheated J Tulsiram of Habsiguda to the tune of Rs 10.65 lakh by providing fake air tickets and tourist visas for 10 people.
The victims had gone to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on the instructions of Kumar on July 29, 2016 with the air tickets and visas sent by the travel agent.
However, they were shocked to know that the tickets and visas were not genuine by the airport authorities. Subsequently, Tulsiram, who made the payment to Kumar by depositing the money into the latter’s bank account, contacted him and demanded reimbursement.
However, Kumar threatened the victim with dire consequences following which Tulsiram lodged a complaint with CCS.
