Hyderabad: Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) Chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Friday said that the JAC would launch a political party if such a need arises.

Addressing 'Meet the Press' programme here, Kodandaram said that there was a need for a political party which is based on political and social morals. He said that the JAC has been working hard to create political alternates.

Therefore, he said that the JAC would not hesitate to launch a new political party if required. However, he clarified that the JAC would continue its activities even after the formation of a political party.

The JAC Chief made it clear that the rally of unemployed youth would be conducted as scheduled on February 22. He assured that the rally would be totally peaceful.

He said they had completed all the formalities like applying for permission from Central zone DCP for the rally but the police had so far not responded. “Permission or no permission, we will take out the rally,” he said.

Kodandaram said that this time they were not going to back out as they did in regard to the farmers rally. He said that the rally would be peaceful.

The JAC Chief said that the government during the last three years had only filled 4,295 posts out of 1.07 lakh posts which it declared as vacant.

He demanded the government to release the recruitment calendar on the lines of UPSC. He also demanded the government to make laws to provide reservations to locals in private companies on the lines of Himachal Pradesh.

The JAC leader said that the government needs to have abundant patience and should know how to take criticism. But unfortunately, they are not able to accept criticism and were attacking other parties and forums if any irregularity or draw backs were pointed out.

He said, “Forums like JAC were essential for strengthening the democracy. Government cannot expect forum to appreciate its works all the time. It has to work for solving the issues of people.

The aim of the proposed rally is to address the demands of the unemployed. If the government solves the issue it would benefit the ruling party and not TJAC. What the JAC wants is solutions to pending problems should be found out.”
