​Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is likely to announce an action plan to resolve the problems of handloom and powerloom weavers in the state.

The Chief Minister, who held a review meeting at Pragathi Bhavan on Saturday, decided to convene a meeting with handloom and powerloom workers of Sircilla on Sunday. The weavers who have been facing serious problems for long need a helping hand, KCR is said to have remarked.

KCR it is learnt to have worked on a draft action plan which would be fine-tuned on Sunday after his meeting with the weavers so that their occupation can become profitable.

Expressing his anguish over the problems the weavers were facing, the Chief Minister remarked that the weavers were in dire strait and were even committing suicides. Hence, there is an urgent need to solve their problems.

Ministers KT Rama Rao, T Harish Rao, Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma, Advisor G Vivek, Chief Secretary SP Singh, Principal Secretary Shanti Kumari, Principal Secretary (Finance) Ramakrishna Rao, Handlooms Development Corporation Director Sailaja Ramaiyer, TS Cooperative Banks Chairman Ravindra Rao, Handloom weavers association leader Jalla Markandeyulu and others were present at the review meeting.
